Dr. Peter C. Donnely

Dr. Peter C. Donnelly is a licensed psychologist in the State of New Jersey who is passionately dedicated to improving the psychological wellbeing of his clients. As a graduate from one of the premier multicultural institutions in the nation, he has spent the past 18 years competently providing quality direct service to urban youth, their families, and communities. Through his extensive clinical work and research in the area of multicultural psychology, Dr. Donnelly effectively tailors empirically supported interventions to make positive changes in the complex lives of his patients. Dr. Donnelly has demonstrated competence in a variety of clinical settings with diverse client populations addressing a wide range of presenting problems including: depression and anxiety; anger management; mental illness; adjustment to physical illness/disability; addictive behaviors; trauma; eating disorders; personal & family relationship problems; and learning disabilities.

As an African-American scholar and former assistant professor, Dr. Donnelly has been primarily focused on generating culturally relevant research with the intention to inform the field of multicultural counseling and cultural minority psychology and education. He has provided expert consultation for a number of premier organizations and institutions across the country that are dedicated to the psychological and educational advancement of underserviced populations. Dr. Donnelly has also had considerable experience working with K-12 populations in New Jersey’s largest cities, providing services for the Boards of Education in East Orange, Newark, Paterson, Somerset and New Brunswick, he has provided numerous consultations, diversity trainings, classroom management workshops and psychoeducational assessments. Accordingly, he has built a strong reputation in the State as one of the leading psychologists in the area of multicultural counseling.
